New Partnership Expands Essential Support for OCTN Caregivers

Nashville, Tenn.- We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Our Chance TN and Mother to Mother, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides car seats, diapers, cribs, and hundreds of other essential items so that under-resourced children in our community can be safe and healthy.  This collaboration was brought forward by Nancy Becerra, our Family Centered Coaching Manager, after seeing firsthand how often families struggle to secure basics like diapers, formula, and safe-sleep supplies.

What’s Now Available to Caregivers

Every caregiver enrolled in Our Chance TN will have access to a wide range of items through Mother to Mother, including:

  • Diapers

  • wipes

  • formula

  • bottles and nursing supplies

  • Cribs and bassinets

  • strollers and car seats

  • Clothing and shoes for newborns through youth

  • Additional everyday essentials that families often go without due to cost

This partnership strengthens the support caregivers receive, especially during moments when finances are tight or resources in their area are limited. By reducing the pressure of purchasing these essentials, families can redirect their energy toward maintaining stability, keeping jobs, and supporting their child’s well-being.

We believe stability is built through consistent support and strong relationships. This partnership reflects that belief by making sure caregivers don’t have to face these challenges alone. We’re grateful for the collaboration and excited to see how it helps families move forward with more confidence and fewer barriers.

Our ChanceTN is a part of a study funded by the Tennessee Department of Human Services which is being conducted to determine how these pilot programs help people improve their economic well-being. During the study, all new eligible applicants will be randomly selected into one of two/three groups that receive a different mix of program services.

The Tennessee Opportunity Pilot Initiative (TOPI) is brought forth by the Tennessee Department of Human Services and TANF Opportunity Act. This initiative will help individuals, families, and the state of Tennessee by creating a new vision for the Tennessee social safety net and is dedicated to helping low-income families grow beyond their vulnerabilities. TOPI empowers all Tennesseans by partnering with local organizations to reach deep into their communities and work shoulder to shoulder with individuals and families, growing their capacity to take on life’s challenges and reduce their dependence on the social safety net.
